The photographer must have scaled the heights of one of the tall pine trees above the station at Bishops Cleeve to obtain this unusual view on 18th July 1964. The platform slabs have already been removed but the distinctive stone built signal box remains. No.7023

No.6953 "Leighton Hall" (minus nameplates and smokebox numberplate) works an up express past the site of the former goods yard at Bishops Cleeve. The date is 14th August 1965 and the signal box has, for some time now, been decommissioned with the signal posts devoid of their arms. (Bill Potter)
